FAQ
The short answers. The pages either side of this one go into more detail on installing, your data and what things cost.
Trinh Labs is where I put the things I build. Some of it is finished and sold — the Unreal Engine and Blender add-ons under Proto Tools. Most of it is prototypes: small apps I made because a task I do often was heavier than it needed to be, put online in case they are useful to someone else too. They are not one ecosystem and do not pretend to be. What they share is a way of working — remove the ceremony, keep the scope small, and make the one thing the tool does worth coming back for.
That the app is real and working, but it is not a finished product with a roadmap behind it. Features can move or disappear, an app can sit untouched for months, and one that finds an audience may grow into something bigger — or into something paid. Nothing here is promised to stay free forever, which is why the apps are labelled as prototypes rather than sold as products — and why the finished, paid work sits on its own site under Proto Tools instead of being mixed in here.
Nothing today. Every app on this page is open to use right now with no account, no trial and no payment. If that ever changes for a particular app it will be said plainly on this page first, and anything already installed on your device keeps working. Later there may also be optional ads on this website — never inside an app — and a Ko-fi link for anyone who wants to help fund the work.
They are Progressive Web Apps, so there is no app store involved — open one in your browser and add it to your home screen. Once it has loaded once, it works offline. Step-by-step instructions for iOS, Android and desktop are under Installing an app.
On your device, in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to a server and there are no accounts. The trade-off is that a browser can clear that storage on its own — most often on iOS, after a long stretch without opening the app. Every app has (or is getting) a backup export and re-import, so you stay in control. Your data covers how to keep it safe.
Devlogs and version notes are coming to this site, alongside a YouTube channel for tutorials and update videos. Both are still being set up. For anything about the Proto Tools add-ons, the Discord is already live and is the fastest way to reach me.
